Grace Dunham Obituary
Hollis, NH - Grace Irene Dunham (Laporte) - age 103 (and one half) went home to Jesus on June 20, 2024 with her loving daughter at her side at Premier Rehabilitation and Long Term Care Facility in Nashua.
Grace was born on December 14, 1920 in Lowell, MA, to Wilfred and Stella (Fairweather) Laporte. In 1943 she met and married Abraham L. Dunham and they had two daughters, Donna and Sherry. They lived many years in Dunstable, MA, followed by Milford and Hollis, NH.
Grace was very active throughout her life. In her early years she was a communicant of Calvary Baptist Church in Lowell, MA, where we sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She is a member of the Congregational Church of Hollis. She was active in the Puritan Chapter of Eastern Star of Lowell, she was leader of the 4-H horse club The Dunstable Dusty Dudes, a member of the Hollis Seniors and the Hollis Happy Hookers (rugs) and so many more.
Grace joins her husband, Abraham, her daughter, Donna Wardlow, her granddaughter, Cheyenne Victoria Nixon, her parents and her sister Doris Kay, in heaven. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry and her husband Bruce Nixon of Bennington, NH, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild, as well as many nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service for Grace and Abraham will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Riverside Cemetery, Milford, NH. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity.
