Holly Vernazzaro-Rourk Obituary

Holly Vernazzaro-Rourk

Charleston, SC - Holly Vernazzaro-Rourk of Charleston, SC left us on September 26, 2025. Her sudden departure was unexpected, and her husband, family, and friends are broken-hearted. Holly was only 44 years of age and will be forever missed by all the souls she connected with.

Holly, the youngest of two children, was born on May 8, 1981 to Frank and Nancy Vernazzaro and her big brother Mike. She was born in Plymouth, Massachusetts and the family moved to Rindge, New Hampshire in her early childhood. She formed lifelong friendships with many people and attended Conant High School in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. In 2003, Holly moved to Charleston, South Carolina where she began the adventure of her life.

Holly was a social butterfly. She enjoyed gathering with friends, enjoying music and drinks, and playing pool. She radiated love, light, and laughter. Those fortunate enough to have her heart were blessed beyond measure, graced with her sunshine filled spirit. She was a warrior for those she loved and a safe place to land. For many years she enjoyed traveling and attending concerts with her friends. She was a carefree spirit who enjoyed life on her own terms, that, and the love she gave were her most admirable qualities.

On May 24, 2025, Holly married the love of her life Fredrick Rourk in a small ceremony surrounded by her brother Mike, his wife Kristal and her close friends. From that day forward, she continuously communicated the happiness she had found and how excited she was to begin her new life as a married woman.

Holly was predeceased by her mother Nancy in 2018. She is survived by her husband Fredrick Rourk, her father Frank Vernazzarro, her brother Michael Vernazzaro and his wife Kristal, a nephew Anthony, a niece Michaela. Holly was loved by so many, there are too many to list, however, she held a special place in her heart for her oldest dearest friend Holli Lightfoot and her children Alia and Haven; her soul sister through life and loss of their mothers', Shyenne Hudson, her husband Terrance, and their children Kamden and Adeline; and Trish Tibbs-Landaw a longtime friend and confidant.
