Klaus Steinbrueck

Lyndeborough NH — Klaus Steinbrueck, 87, of Bremen, Germany, formerly of Lyndeborough, NH passed away peacefully on January 28th, 2022 after a brief illness.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Angelika; his brothers, Achim and Rudy and their spouses.

He is survived by his three loving daughters Barbara Desmond and her husband Mike, Tina Hamilton and her husband Charlie and Karin Steinbrueck and her husband Daniel Biss; five devoted grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his nieces, nephews and their children. His former wife, Trudy Steinbrueck predeceased him. His parents, Herbert and Dorothea Steinbrueck of Amherst, NH also predeceased him.

He was born June 20, 1934 in Danzig, Germany and grew up in Minden, Germany where he apprenticed as a carpenter. In 1956 he emigrated to Somerville, MA with his parents and brothers, then promptly joined the US Army, and was stationed back in Germany. Following his Army service, he pursued his love of auto mechanics and worked for Auto Engineering in Lexington, MA. In 1969 he settled in Amherst, NH, where he owned and operated Autohaus North for more than 30 years specializing in Mercedes, Porsche and other European automotive repair. In retirement, he joined KTR Motorsports in Ayer, MA where he shared his years of automotive knowledge. He was a member of Porsche Club of America and British Cars of NH where he was often called upon as a guest speaker. A resident of Lyndeborough, NH for 36 years he enjoyed collecting cars and antiques of all sorts. His outgoing personality and gift of storytelling will be dearly missed.

His memorial and interment will be private.
