“Big” Rob Cassidy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 22, 2024.
Rob passed away on August 21, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones (His Charlie's Angels). Rob was born in April of 1977 to Marian Mayle and Robert Cassidy. He passed after fighting a long, strong and courageous battle with lung cancer. Rob was born and raised in Canton, Ohio ; with the SouthWest being a huge part of his life.

He married his childhood love, Amanda Cassidy, who he loved "alottabunchatoo". They reunited in 2016, and married in October of 2022.

Rob was also survived by his loving daughters Brittany Cassidy (Daniel) and Breanna Ammond (Jessie), as well as his step-son Thomas Ammond III (Ashley). Together the children gave him six wonderful grandchildren, Aiden, Carter, Gianna, Giovanni, Easton, and Lincoln, who he loved immensely and would later be known as the "Bugga Buddies". He proudly surrendered the nickname "Big Rob", to be known as "Bug" and "Papa".

In his passing he also left behind his sister Betty Taylor (Roland); his brothers Dave Parker (Liane), Tommy Cassidy, Judd Estep (Bridget), Kyle Gloss (Tabitha), Tom Matheson (Debbie), John Coburn, and Chris Bertram (Yollanda); and two godsons Colton and Xavier; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was a member of Living Hope Christian Fellowship, where he enjoyed talking and meeting new friends and followers of Christ.

Rob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed any and all outdoor activities including: fishing, camping, and looking for gold. His favorite place to be was sitting oceanfront at the beach with his wife and family (Down by the Beach Bi**h).

Rob will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. A celebration of life will be held sometime during the weekend of August 30th. Friends and family will be updated, via Facebook Event, a set date and time when arrangements are finalized.

I'm sorry for your loss. I didn't know him long but his personality leaves a lasting impression. I am the guy with 1 foot (eagles). I have no doubts I was topic of a conversation or 2. Battles on Cornhole boards brought laughs , he had that smirk smile that you have to smile back. It's not much considering but a post on FB I recognized him immediately. Rob I'm no one. But you were a standup guy and you'll be missed. Thanks for the smiles thinking Of memories . Prayers to the family God's team just got stronger

I met Rob and all the old gang through my husband Jimmy Naugle when we all ran in the SW. man the good times we use to all have Rob , Jimmy , Roger , Parker. I can just see him , Rog, and Jimmy cutting it up on the other side . Rob was always great guy to me and watched out after Jimmy died wow that´s been over 20 years ago. I haven´t seen him in probly 10 years we´d say were were cousins because of our last name lol . My deepest condolences for your loss

Rob and I dated when we was just kids in 1993. We was each others first love and it was something that couldn´t be explained for how young we was. Unfortunately we had a forced separation and went our seperate ways for 23 years. Once we reunited there was no coming between us from that day forward. I´m going to miss him so damn much!!! It hurt so bad to watch him fight the biggest fight of his life and suffer while doing it. I can get comfort knowing he is no longer in pain and has gone home to be carefree and happy. We are soul mates!!! He also said we was so content with each other that "we was comfortable in the silence". We could be doing our own thing laying beside each other for hours and just randomly reach over and say I love you and go back to what we was doing. This man treated me like no other. He never called me out any name, he always mad me laugh, he made me realize when I was wrong and taught me it was ok to be as long as you take ownership, he made me realize crying over spilt milk was pointless and never got angry over my mistakes or flaws. He showed excitement in my happiness and success in life. He loved me forwho I was. We had an amazing total of 11 years together and I so saddened we didn´t get more. I know he is now what over me and continuing to be my protector like he always has been. I know one day we will meet again and we will pick right up where we left off just like the first time we got separated. Baby, I love you alottabunchtoo but miss you even more!!!!
