Mishkee, (Mohammed) Ali -

age 69, of Cottage Grove, passed away at home on November 22nd 2023, after a courageous battle with ALS. Ali was born on May 4th, 1954, a loving son of Mirza and Rokia. He immigrated to the United States from Pakistan, and graduated from Winona State University in 1981. He spent his career in the restaurant business, most recently as the owner of the Lone Spur Grill in Minnetonka. He loved life, and lit up every room that he entered. He will always be remembered for his natural charisma, his love of America, his passion for food, and his enthusiasm for the great outdoors. His children will forever miss his advice, stories, wit, and dad jokes.

He is survived by his spouse, Mary, his four children: Katie (Brian), Chris (Jessica), Shaan, Emily, 8 grandchildren that he adored: Anthony, Annabelle, Natalie, Audrey, Liam, Alijah, Ethan, Lillian, his siblings: Sakina, Fari, Cassim, Mahnaz, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Naima. Special thanks to his friends and employees from the Lone Spur Grill - he truly loved his work, it brought him much joy. Ali loved cooking for people, and never wanted anyone leaving hungry - in lieu of memorials, please consider a donation to your local food bank. Private burial. Celebration of life at a later date, details TBA.

So very sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts go out to all his family. Ali and I met back in our WSU days. I remember him as kind, funny, engaging, and caring. I hope fond memories sustain the family during times of grief.

I'm saddened by news of your death we've known each other for 40 plus years as we both got our start in the restaurant business at Los Robles. I've tried to find where you were to reconnect over the years. To Mary and the kids my deepest sympathy for your loss, he was good man.

Ali was one of the nicest people I have ever met, he had such enthusiasm for everything he did. We had some wonderful times camping up n the boundary waters, and the food he would cook was always the best, I will miss him dearly. I only hope there is good fishing up there in heaven. Will never forget you my friend.

Ali was always so friendly at Lone Spur, especially for our volleyball team. Throughout the many years I have known him, always so appreciative of the business. He is/was a great friend!! You will truely be missed!!!

We were long-time customers at Lone Spur, and he would always stop at our table to say hi and talk about things in general, sometimes the food, as well as his health as his condition progressed. He was a wonderful man and will be missed by many.
