Cornelis SUYKENS Obituary
June 9, 1938-December 18, 2013
Passed away surrounded by family on December 18, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents Ann and Matthieu Suykens. Beloved husband of 48 yrs to Deanna (nee Hall), loving father of Doug (Ellen) and Marnie (Mark). He will also be dearly missed by his brother Bob (Janet), sister Inge (Alistair), brother-in-law Bill (Hall), nieces, nephew and cousins. Keith immigrated to Canada from Holland in 1954 and was proud of his heritage. He worked at Northern Telecom for 8 yrs before leaving to pursue teaching. He taught at Woodroffe H.S. and Rideau H.S for 27 yrs with a passion for every aspect teaching brought. Keith lived a full life filled with love for his family, community, church, art, philosophy, politics and so much more. He lived modestly but gave generously to many charities. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched. A memorial service will be held at the Stittsville United Church 6255 Fernbank Rd., Stittsville, Ont. On Saturday December 28th at 11 a.m. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Keith was a character… a well loved colleague at Rideau HS. His strong, well disciplined views were admired and some of the shared antics are memorable. He was a teacher with passion and a love for his students.

We were shoked and sad to learn of Keith's death. Keith and Deanna have volounteeed with the Ottawa Carleton Assooc for Persons with Developmental Disabilities for years and are loved. Keith will be missed. Our hearth and prayers go to Deanna and family on the loss of such a wonderful man.

I am so sorry to hear of Keith's passing. I knew Keith through two lens, one, I was a student at Woodroffe and Keith taught me drafting. It is a skill that has served me well to this day. I "returned" to Woodroffe as a Vice Principal, and Keith was still teaching.
A fine teacher and a fine man. He will be missed.
