1st Lt. Mason Aaron Wells, age 30, a resident of Montgomery, AL a former Montgomery Police Department officer, and current Commander of the Alabama National Guard Unit in Haleyville, AL died at his home January 6, 2018. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with President Steve NeSmith officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 12, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
He is survived by his daughter, Adalyn Harper Wells of Wetumpka; his parents, Dale and Becky Wells of Highland Home; brothers: Matthew Wells (Kellie) of Fairhope, Michael Wells (Monika) of Fairhope, and Mark Wells of Mobile; nieces and nephews: Blakeny Wells, Bryce Wells, Anne Bradley Wells, Nicholas Wells, and Michelle Wells; grandmother, Thelma Finch of Highland Home; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Eric Wells, Chris Wells, Jarrod Owens, Michael Wells, Jason Powell, and Will Pouncey.

My sincere condolences to the entire family. Mason was a genuine friend, excellent police officer and a long time colleague. I was blessed to have known him and I will forever miss his light hearted and comical personality that always made working enjoyable, even on a tough day. Miss you Brother.
