A service at Mansfield crematorium chapel preceded cremation of Mr Arthur Gillott (77), of Bailey Crescent, Mansfield.
Born at Mansfield Woodhouse and educated at the town's Yorke Street School, Mr Gillott had been a life-long local resident.
A miner at Sherwood, Pleasley and finally Shirebrook colliery, from where he retired, Mr Gillott's interests included gardening, holidays abroad, going to the Legion Club and being with his family.
Mr Gillott, who died at his home, leaves his wife, Mrs Irene Gillott, sons Michael and Mark, daughters Julie and Nichola, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mourners were Mrs I. Gillott, Miss J. Gillott, Mr and Mrs Michael Gillott, Mr and Mrs Mark Gillott, Mrs B. Osbourne, Mr and Mrs Scgoot, Mr D. Taylor and partner, Mrs Marshall, Mrs Hawson, Miss A. Gillott, Mr Haywood, Mr and Mrs Hursthouse, Mrs B. Greenslade, Mr and Mrs Hinchcliffe, M. A. Wood, Mr and Mrs Hinchley, Mrs J. Taylor, Mr L. Taylor, Mr G. Hawson, Mr and Mrs L. Gascoyne, Mr and Mrs Warsop, Mr and Mrs D. Gillott, Mr C. Swift.
Floral tributes were from the immediate family and friends.
The service was conducted by Mr B. Gaunt, and arrangements were by Ivan Bramley.
