Aaliyah Nicole Jefferies

Aaliyah Nicole Jefferies, age 20 of Old Post Rd. passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017. She was born September 12, 1997 in Gaston County to Kellie Louise Hull and Walden Christopher Link. Aaliyah was a 2017 graduate of Cherryville High School. She loved reading and playing video games. Aaliyah played basketball and softball. She also enjoyed kickboxing and UFC. Aaliyah was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jerry Jefferies, Walden Johnson, Robert and Frances Carroll, Rev. Linton Johnson, Ralph and Maude Scism, and Andrew "Pops" and Geneva Link; uncle, Justin Jefferies; sister, Skylar Link; and four great aunts and uncles. Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Kellie Hull and Stevilen Cathcart; father and stepmother, Walden Link and Tonya; brothers and sisters, Robert Jefferies, Syncere Cathcart, Jibri Starr, Amir Starr, Kadin Starr, Sydnee Cathcart, Kim Asia Wilson, Breanna Link, Gypsy Link, Christopher Link, Tiara Link, Jaylen Link, Jarrell Link, Alyissa Link, Jeremiah Link, Ontaria Link, and Zitareon Link; grandparents, Betsy Jefferies, David and Karen Thompson, Nana Betty Cathcart, and Steven Cathcart and Robyn; aunt, Ashley Jefferies and Elizabeth; uncles, Bryan Carroll and Sheila and Quinton Link; cousins, Hunter, Noah, and Anna Huffman; nieces, Ky'Mani, Janyla, and Averi; nephew, Taavona; five great aunts; and three great uncles. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Travis Mull officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In accordance with her wishes, she was able to extend life to others through the gift of multiple organs donation.
