Aaron L. Curtner

Canton, MI - Aaron L. Curtner, age 49, passed away on October 4, 2023 at his home in Canton, MI. He was born on March 10, 1974, in Saginaw, MI. Aaron was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Aaron was a strong supporter of his friends and was always willing to lend a hand, give a meal, or just listen. He enjoyed making art with friends, and his group pieces hold a special place in the hearts of those who have them. In recent years, he had returned to making music and had fun with jam sessions. Aaron took great pride in his niece Lyra, and he was immensely proud of the smart and fierce person she is becoming. At home, he could often be found snuggling with his couch cats and Angela while watching Marvel or the latest sci-fi show. He had a green thumb and found joy in his garden, where he grew new plants and flowers for wildlife to enjoy. Aaron's generosity extended to his neighbors, whom he frequently shared his tomato bounty with.

Aaron took great pride in his career as a home remodeler. He worked on several Frank Lloyd Wright homes, leaving his mark on these architectural marvels. Additionally, he was an accomplished artist, creating numerous pieces of art that reflected his passion for found objects. Many friends and family members cherish his artwork.

Aaron had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in August and was taken from us too soon.

Aaron is survived by his mother and stepfather, Victoria and Robert Varney, stepmother Karen Arndorfer, sister Ellen Varney and partner Robert Shelburg, niece Lyra Shelburg, and partner Angela Zaetta. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Aaron was preceded in death by his father, Robert Curtner.

A Celebration of Life memorial and exhibit of Aaron's art will take place on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 2-6 PM at Struk Studio - 2916 Turner Rd, Lansing, MI 48906. Please visit https://www.struk.studio/ for more information.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up in Aaron's honor for those wishing to make a contribution. Donations can be made at http://spot.fund/fs547sc.
