1982 - 2014
Left us suddenly on September 30, 2014. Aaron was a highly decorated officer who served in the Persian Gulf and was last stationed in Ottawa. He leaves behind his wife, Johanna Cutler (Scouten); mother, Angela; Nanny; brothers, Adam and Jason (Ashley); Julie and Carl Scouten; Cameron (Baeli); nephews, Austin and Jacob; as well as many relatives and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly. Services will be held at Victory Memorial Park, Surrey, BC on Thursday, October 9 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society of Canada, the Alzheimer Association, or Wounded Warriors Canada.

I find myself thinking of you often, Aaron. You were a kind, bright, and dear friend during my most formative years and I truly wish we could have stayed in touch when I moved away.
You were there for me when I was down, and I'll forever remember this one particular quiet moment we spent on a bench in the hallway at school. I was upset, but as usual I wouldn't talk about it. you just sat there with me quietly, letting me know everything was okay. You always made me smile. I sure wish I could have done the same for you and been a better friend.
Please keep watch over us from up there, and know that we all miss you.

I think of you daily as well. On September 30,2018 I layed 2 beautiful lei's of orchids in the Pacific Ocean. One for you and one for my mother who passed on the same date different year. It's always a hard day for me.

The last opportunity I had to be with Aaron was when my family and I attended the farewell party at his house in Dartmouth just before he and Johanna departed for Ottawa. We are all saddened that he is gone, and my tears join those of my children as we mourn the loss of a kind and gentle soul.

Aaron and I flew together for many many hours during both our deployment to the Persian Gulf and also at Shearwater in recent years. He was professional in his work, humourous in his daily demeanour, and empathetic when his friends needed someone to lean on. I instructed Aaron at 406 Sqn and (as these things go in our small military) he instructed me last year when I returned to flying Sea Kings.
