Aaron Kernes

I have shown many friends Aaron's book and also the photos he and Norma put together in a book I will always cherish. they all loved them and it brings back the fond memories I have of my art school days with Aaron.

Aaron and I were friends at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. we reconnected recently and talked a few times in the year before his passing. it was great to reminisce . I am so honored to have a book of his and Norma's beautiful photos and his book"the Magical Paths to Mystical Park.

I worked with Aaron many years ago at Meyer/Fredricks Advertising. We didn't know each other at the time, and it was through his many relationships with the greater Chicago Ad world that my portfolio of samples somehow hit his desk. My portfolio wasn't very good, or very professional -- advertising was't really where my career was headed -- but he saw something in my efforts worth encouraging and developing, and he was key in my hiring. I really needed the job at the time, and more importantly as a young man with wild, unrealistic dreams of success, really needed someone to believe in me. Aaron was that man, and I will always love and respect him for his encouragement and his trust. I want to add my name to the many people, both personal and professional, who will miss Arron deeply. He was talented, hilarious, loving and generous... and your smile, laugh and positive attitude will be with me always, my friend. My love and deepest regrets to your family for their loss. I worked with Aaron at Meyer/Fredericks many years ago. He was a great guy and a great boss. Always positive and very encouraging for someone like me at the start of his career. He will be missed.

I worked with Aaron for 4 years at ALP Lighting in Niles. I can honestly say he was the best boss I ever had, and a true friend.
