Aaron Schiffman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 25, 2024.
Aaron Schiffman, 35, beloved brother, son, and friend, passed away in his home on February 15, 2024. He is survived by his sister Rachel, brother Noah, mother Lisa Schiffman, and is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Mark A. Schiffman. He will be dearly missed by his loving extended family, friends, and colleagues.

Aaron completed his undergraduate work in Neurobiology as an Honors student at UC Irvine where he then pursued a career in research while nurturing his desire to pass on knowledge to others. Most recently, Aaron was a PhD student at Rutgers University at the Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neurosciences, a place that had come to feel like home to him.

Beyond his academic pursuits, Aaron is known for his unparalleled sense of humor and ties to the online gaming world as @infinipatrons. He was an incredible deck builder and pillar of the Legends of Runeterra and Hearthstone communities where he had a knack for making new players feel welcome as well as changing the game with his creativity. Privately, Aaron was a proud cat dad constantly showing off his fur babies and on a quest to find the best pizza in NYC.

In honoring his memory, let us remember Aaron for his ability to ask the big "why" questions in life, for his desire to help others, and for his strong family values. Though he may be gone, the impact of his presence will continue to resonate within our hearts.

A memorial service and burial will be held February 27th at Forest Lawn in Cathedral City, California while a Celebration of Life will take place March 8th at Rutgers University for his New Jersey friends and colleagues.

February 25, 2024

I met him in the Twitch chat of a little known LoR streamer who went by Flowers. I was just getting into the community around the game and he reached out to me about starting to practice together for larger tournaments. His open and welcoming nature really brought me into the scene.
