Aaron Josiah Winter

Aaron Josiah Winter died February 20, 2018 in Austin, TX. Aaron was born August 2, 1987 in Nacogdoches, TX to Robert and Mary Winter. Aaron was born at the hospital where his Mother worked. Aaron lived in Nacogdoches most of his life, graduating from Nacogdoches High School in 2006 and Stephen F. Austin University in December 2011 where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. Aaron moved to Austin, TX in 2015. At the time of his passing he was enrolled in a Masters program at Western Governor's University in Health Administration. He was projected to graduate in May 2018. Aaron worked as a Pharmacy Technician in both retail and hospital settings prior to his passing. He completed a medical mission to Peru in 2014 and traveled to Italy with his eldest sister in 2016. As a child, Aaron loved playing with toys and playing games with his siblings. As an adult, Aaron loved his dog Wolfgang, Krav Maga, music and becoming a proficient guitar and piano player. He also enjoyed yoga and meditation. Aaron will forever be remembered as a gentle, loving soul who was particularly concerned for those whom he considered less privileged and fortunate. He was a recipient of the Eagle Scout award in 2005 and embodied the Boy Scout values of courtesy and helpfulness. Aaron is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Albert and Helen (Keefe) Winter, his maternal grandfather Eugene Mooney and his cousin Ethan Christian. Aaron is survived by his mother Mary Winter Petersen, father and stepmother Robert and Theresa Winter, and siblings Jocelyn (Winter) Bach, Michael Winter, Zachary Winter, Brianna Winter, Eleni Winter, Monica Winter, Stephanie Winter and Joshua Winter. A memorial service will be held for Aaron on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Oak Point Park Center in Plano, TX at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (http://afsp.org)
