Abbie Catherine Hawes Mercer

I have known Abbie Mercer for a very long time. Carolyn was part of our youth group growing up. The whole Mercer family were pillars at Third Baptist and were examples of Christ love to many. She has gone to her eternal reward. My prayers go up for the whole family

Hawes, condolences to you and your family. What a blessed comfort to know she is with Jesus and you will see her again. May that promise bring peace.

Our hearts and prayers are with you during this sad time. We only lose our mothers once and there is no other experience like it. We laughed to think of Abbie and Bobbie, two beautiful determined blond friends, together again in good health! God bless you all. Love you, Stan and Jackie

Abbie and Lindy were a special couple at Third. They were good friends of my parents. Mama helped take care of Mrs. Hawes for a while. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Prayers for all the family.

I have attended church with Abbie for 50+ years. She was a blessing to many and is/will be missed by all who knew her.

Abbie always seemed timeless - energetic and never aging. She made every family reunion entertaining with a tennis match or an idea to have a little fun! She and Uncle Lindy would invite us over to jump on the trampoline or run in the yard and just be kids! It has always been a blessing to say that we were related to such good people who loved this community and their faith! May she rest in the garden of eternal happiness and peace!

Lindy, Hawes, Carol and family: I so loved Abbieone of my favorites at Third Baptist Church. I remember how mission minded she was (as was Lindy); we took a mission trip together to Eastern KY a few years ago. TBC has lost another wonderful long time member. Abbie will be missed and remembered for a long time. Hugs and prayers to you all during this difficult time.

I was sadden to hear of your loss of one of the most wonderful strong ladies who was a lot like my mom of Maceo community. Hawes we went to school together from the first grade thru high school and my mom past on to heaven January 1, 2015. So I know what you are feeling of mom being gone.
