Abrielle Joy Andrews

Abrielle Andrews, known to her family and friends as Abby, passed away in the early hours of Monday, December 5th, 2022 after a fierce battle with cancer.

Diagnosed with a rare sarcoma, Abby went into that fight with her usual sense of "all in", choosing aggressive treatments and working hard to stay as healthy as possible. She is missed incredibly by her father and mother, Ken and Lori Andrews; her brothers and their wives, Austin and Jamie Andrews, and Adam Andrews and Sherell Jackson and her grandparents, Charlotte and Scott Gilmore, her boyfriend Vinnie Fawcett, as well as her beloved dog, Brulee. We know she was greeted in heaven by her grandparents Clarence and Martha Andrews, and Charles and Terri Mull.

Abby had a gift of understanding young people and spent the last ten years working with children with the most significant emotional and behavioral difficulties. Working as an associate and PE teacher, her passion was helping children of all ages and abilities learn to take charge of their learning and choices. She was enrolled at Arizona State University to be a child psychologist.

Abby's social media reflected her wide range of interests, passions, and loves. She was a talented photographer and loved taking road trips to out of the way or forgotten places. She chose to see the beauty in the discarded, worn out pieces of our world, and saw herself reflected in those images of a plant pushing through the broken concrete. She had so many loves - gardening and the outdoors with her dad and brothers, research and education talk with her mom, music, dance, makeup and art with friends. She was a unique person who saw the world through a different lens and was fiercely protective of those she loved and her interests. Her room was chock full of books, succulent plants, jewelry and skulls, and, in her cancer journey, wigs and funny encouragements.

Abby's family and friends will gather Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Pasadena City Church at 10:30am to remember her passion for life and celebrate the joy she brought to all of us.
