THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Ada N. Poss, 94, widow of Mr. Gerald C. Poss Sr., died Sunday, July 31, 2016, in the Augusta Gardens Assisted Living, Augusta. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, in Thomson First Baptist Church, with Rev. David Lambert officiating. Burial will be in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Poss was a native of Milledgeville, but had lived in Thomson for many years. She was a Graduate of Georgia State Women's College. She was a retired Educator, having worked for the McDuffie Co. Board of Education for over 35 years. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Professional Teacher Sorority. She was a member of Thomson First Baptist Church and taught the Pre-Teens Sunday School Class for over 30 years Survivors include her son, Mr. Gerald C. "Gerry" Poss Jr., Columbia S.C. and her granddaughter, Katherine Poss Albert, Savannah, Ga. In lieu of Flowers, Donations may be made to the Ferguson Property Fund at Thomson First Baptist, 253 Jackson Street, Thomson Ga., 30824. Friends may call at the Curtis Funeral Home.
