Although I knew you only briefly, I will always remember your big-hearted kindness. Needless to say, you will be deeply missed, as will the many treasured memories you left us with.

I am really sad to hear of Adam´s passing. I worked with him at the zoo through the Nocturnal Adventures program. He was one of my favorite NA leaders! Really easygoing, kind and just cool. This breaks my heart, because he spoke often of his wife and kids (mostly his daughter during that time ~2007-2008). I have been praying for him nightly. Sending those prayers to his family.

To the Blundell Family,

"I called Adam for his interview(s) for HCDOES years ago along with lots of other HCDOES employees including my husband back in 1991. I was the Administrative Secretary 2 who worked for the entire department, as needed. He was always a pleasure to speak to on a daily basis. I enjoyed doing secretarial support work for him, too. I worked at HCDOES from 08/24/1989 to 09/01/2020 (retirement - first stroke on 07/26/2020; second stroke on 01/20/2023). Adam would send his HELLOs to me through my husband Trent R. Lewis II (still works at HCDOES as Laboratory Technician).

I certainly hope that Adam enjoyed the Graeter's ice cream sent to him at his house over the years from us - Raspberry Chocolate Chip.

May Our Lord open the gates of Heaven for Adam and give him the peace from the painful brain cancer. May the Holy Spirit give the Blundell family the spiritual guidance and support needed during this sad and difficult time period. May Our Mother Mary open Her arms and provide you with Her spiritual hugs.

God bless you and your family. Adam was very special and I enjoyed his kind office talks over the years at HCDOES about his family & wife, the zoo, and sports, when he stopped by my office for a work visit or called me from out in the field doing technical support work.

Sorry I did not make it to his Celebration of Life on 09/06/2024; but my husband Trent told me all about it. It sounded lovely. My limitation causes me some restrictions at times. Thank you for your understanding."

Take Care,

Sharon A. Lewis

I had the pleasure of working with Adam at the Zoo. He had a great love for the animals and incredible patience as an educator. He was a proud father, a good friend, and just an all around awesome, kind human.

Adam and I worked together at Hamilton county, and I got to be his supervisor during part of that time. Adam was a positive force in the agency. He didn´t choose to be a leader, but informally, he was one for those he worked with because of his positive attitude and drive to do a job correctly. He was always dependable and willing to help those outside our group. On a personal level, he and I enjoyed talking about local sports, especially baseball. We also enjoyed talking family, as we had kids similar in age. It does not surprise me that he has so many people leaving beautiful messages here. My condolences and prayers for his family.

I have many fond memories of my friend, Adam. He was the first friend I made here at DOES. We started our careers here a week apart. So we went to all those HRD training classes together. As boring as they were, Adam helped make the time seem like it passed quickly. Our sense of humor is very similar and half the time all we had to do was look at one another and he´d bust out laughing. A great sense of humor and the ability to make me laugh is something I truly treasure in a friend. If we sat across from one another in any setting inappropriate laughing was bound to happen.

Another quality I value in a friend is someone who will rage on my behalf. They always have my back and support me no matter how crazy I might sound at the moment. He was definitely one of the best in this. I could always count on him, no questions asked.

The way he loved his wife and kids was truly beautiful. He always seemed to nearly burst with pride just talking about them. I was lucky enough to see them all interact in person numerous times. One thing is for sure, his family knows how much he loved them. He never left anything unsaid.

I did my best to try and make him smile or laugh every day during the horrific battle he raged. Cancer really does suck. He was the best person, and I will truly miss my friend every day of the rest of my life. Rest easy bud, I´ll look for you when I get there! I love you, Lori

I worked with Adam at Hamilton County DOES from 2009 when he started till I retired in 2016. I attended one or two Reds games with him and other coworkers. He was a very genuine person. I always enjoyed our conversations. I only communicated with him once after his diagnosis and was inspired by his grace in the midst of his suffering. May you rest in peace friend. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Adam's contribution to Hamilton County Department of Environmental Services/Southwest Ohio Air Quality will never be forgotten. His kindness and warmth touched us all. His love for his family and animals was unwavering. I will cherish our talks about baseball. He listened wholeheartedly about me talking about my son David's successful baseball playing days and I was so interested in his conversations about his own son Aaron playing baseball. Rest in peace my friend. Laura Middendorf

I attended the Cincinnati Reds Opening Day Parade and Baseball Game with my son, Jeremy McComb, my daughter, Jessica McComb, and her dear friend, Adam. I knew of Adam from the many times Jessica spoke of him, and I had met him briefly once or twice before attending the Opening Day festivities. After spending the entire day with Adam and my kids, I felt like I had known Adam for years. I understood why he was so special to Jessica. I got to know his wife, Emily, and his children, Ava and Aaron. Adam was indeed a fine young man, and he will be sorely missed. Another good person gone entirely too soon. Rest In Peace, my Friend.

My Dad was the absolute greatest gift I have ever, and will ever be given. He gave me the best life. All of my happiness was from him. He was the smartest person I have ever met, and such a gentle giant. I am so sad to have to live the rest of my life without him, but I know he is with me in a different way. The Grateful Dead will forever course through my veins, and in that way his legacy will live on. Your memories and photos of him make me so smile. They make my heart ache, but they make me so grateful for these 18 years I got with him. Love you so much Dadam. Brain cancer sucks.

Adam was a force for good in the world through his gentle treatment of people (and animals). I'm grateful to have known him and am hopeful that his spirit of kindness is his legacy.

I didn't work in the same branch as Adam, but I knew him and his kind spirit just from phone conversations. We both worked for a fantastic company called PBE Jobbers Warehouse. I recall how sad everyone was when Adam told us he was leaving PBE to pursue his zoology career. He was such an asset to PBE and a good friend to everyone that it was hard to say goodbye. I followed him on Facebook and watched his family grow, I saw how much Adam loved animals and knew he was finally where he belonged. I'm sorry his time on Earth was shortened, but thankful I can say I knew him and benefited from that friendship. Godspeed Adam Linda Kuehn... TEAM PBE

Adam never knew a stranger he had a way of drawing people in and making them feel accepted. His smile and whitty personality was infectious. One of the most genuine people I ever had the privilege of knowing. He was one of the good ones.
