The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Adam Charles Muffler our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Adam. And to Adam it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for his service in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedoms and for the selfless sacrifices he made for his country while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. No greater love and patriotism is shown than a man dedicate his life in service to his country. Adam, you are a brave Marine and Army Warrior and a true Patriot. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.

I only knew Adam through a softball team he played for. Although it was for only a short time, in that time he proved to be a good guy and to his team mates a great friend. His service to this country will not be forgotten and as someone who went through a very similar thing not more than 2 years ago my very deepest sincere condolences. Prayers sent for you all.

Your loss is felt by many people. Not all will understand or relate to your loss. Adam gave to his country. Not just Adam but his wife and his family have given as well.
My prayer is that you all will find comfort and peace in God. He understands and is big enough to carry you as well as to bring you through this deep heartbreak step by step.

I remember forcing him to go to the neighborhood pool with me and then picking on each other like it was going out of style. Although I haven't spoken to him in awhile I was always worried about Adam and Roy's safety when they were overseas. I'm sorry for not keeping in touch like I should have.
