Adelaide Barbara "Heidi" Rahenkamp

ADELAIDE BARBARA RAHENKAMP Adelaide "Heidi" Barbara Rahenkamp, 91 went to be with Jesus Saturday, March 25, 2023 at her home in Avon Park, Florida with all her children by her side to usher her to the gates of heaven. She was preceded in death five days earlier by her husband "Jim" James V. Rahenkamp. Along with heart failure, losing her husband of 71 years broke her heart. They had been married since May 30, 1951, after meeting at Cleveland Bible College. Surviving are Children: Diane (John-deceased) Brazle of Winfield, KS; Sharon (Clint Howard) of Haviland, KS; Tim (Maureen) Rahenkamp of St. Charles, MO; Esther (Steve) Baber of High Point, NC. Grandchildren: Chateece (Cory) Rickard of Seymour, TX; Julie (Jason) Rowan of Bentonville, AK; Kandyce (Steve) Taylor of Colorado Springs, CO; Clayton (Jenny) Howard of Ellis, KS; Chay (Alivia) Howard of Haviland, KS; Taylor (Chris) Cook of Wright City, MO; Tiffany (Nick) Wimmer of Rock Hill, SC; David (Amy) McGrath of Orlando, FL. Heidi was also blessed with 20 Great-Grandchildren. Other surviving family include Brothers Bob Rufener and Philip Rufener of Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. Heidi was preceded in death by Parents, John & Helen (Hadorn) Rufener; Sisters, Ruth Burge and Lily Holcomb; Brother, John Rufener. She was born in Orange, Ohio May 26, 1931. Heidi grew up in Ohio and graduated as Valedictorian of Mineral City H.S. Heidi was a faithful servant of God, who accepted Christ at an early age. After her children were in school she studied nursing and served in that capacity for many years. She also, served as a pastor's wife. She had a tender heart for the elderly and enjoyed visiting them. Family was the great joy of Heidi's life. She enjoyed cooking for them and listening to their hearts and stories. Christmas was Mom's favorite time of the year and she made it warm and inviting. Gardening, flowers, playing the piano, bright colors and blue skies brought her great pleasure. Her quiet, unselfish, gentle spirit will be missed. See you in Heaven Mom! A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 8, 2023 at the Sebring Church of the Nazarene in Sebring, Florida. Memorials may be made to the Avon Park Camp, the Sebring or Avon Park Church of the Nazarene or Barclay College.
