Dearest Judy;

It's been a very long time since I've seen you, but had to send a note of condolence on the passing of your mother. She was such a class act. I know the Elsbury's loved her. I hope all is well with the rest of your family. Darren is still Darren, and continues to make everyone laugh. God Bless.

From teaching me "situational ethics" in Sunday school at the synagogue in Mt. Pleasant to helping me (many years later) to snap out of despair about writing my doctoral dissertation with "reality therapy", Adele has been a wonderful influence in my life for many years.

I will miss her and send my sympathy and love to Marcy, Ellie, and Judy.

There must be a limerick and so,

There once was a gal named Adele,
Her virtues I'm happy to tell.
She was smart, she was sassy
She was generous and classy
And her poetry was truly--NOBEL!

There is less sparkle in the world with your passing, my friend.

I fondly remember Adele during her time at Hiram G. Andrews when she was the Director of Education. She interviewed me when I was about 7 months pregnant and thought my chances of landing a job as vocational instructor were slim to none. But she hired me and helped me fulfill my wish to work with people with disabilities. I loved her strength and ability to perform her job as a woman at a time when not many women had positions of authority. She had a big heart and I will forever appreciate her faith in my ability to do my job. Eventually I became the Director of Education and remember her in the same office. I would not have had that opportunity if she had not hired me in the first place.

My condolences to your family. Adele was a joy to work with at WCCC. She did a wonderful job moving the Act 101 program forward and supporting students with academic needs. And she was fun to be with! Siincerely, Mary Stubbs

I knew Adele through my mother, Susan Shincovich, who worked for her at the Hiram G. Andrews Center. Adele was so matter of fact, so good with people, and so vivacious and quick to laugh. She always made me feel like I was exactly the person she wanted to be talking with. In about 2002 when I was living in Shadyside, Adele took me out for a drink near Pitt's campus. This is my favorite memory of her: us having great martinis and conversation in a campus bar. She went out of her way to make time for me after a long day running errands in Pittsburgh. I truly enjoyed her company! Adele was a great lady and a great inspiration.

Condolences to your family. I have many fond memories of your beautiful Mother.

When I think of Adele, I always remember her zest for life. Her New Year's Day parties were something everyone look forward to. My deepest sympathy to Adele's family.

I am so sorry for your loss. It was such a privilege to get to know Adele by doing her hair this last year and half. She was truly a remarkable woman and will always have a place in my heart.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Adele at Hiram G Andrews in the Education department. She was always so upbeat and nice to me. I will remember her fondly. Prayers and condolences to the family.
