Adrianne Potter

Adrianne Elaine Potter, age 47, passed away peacefully in her home in Sapphire, North Carolina, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Born on June 13, 1978, in Decatur, Illinois, Adrianne was the beloved daughter of Joyce Gillispie (Allen) and Mark Potter.

Adrianne's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with love for nature, music, and the loyal companionship of her dog, Thunder Bear. She was a free spirit who found joy in the quiet beauty of the natural world and the rhythm of a favorite song. Her connection to the outdoors was deep and abiding-she sought solace in wild places and embraced each sunrise with wonder and gratitude.

She is survived by her devoted dog Thunder Bear; her mother Joyce and stepfather David Allen; her father Mark and stepmother Carol Potter; her grandmother Carolyn Potter; her siblings Alicia Fear (spouse Zach), Crystal Mango (spouse Mateo), Payton Potter, and Autumn Potter; and her nieces and nephews Gavin Shaw, Christian Shaw, Brinley Fear, Emma, Maddie, Luca, and Jupiter. She is also remembered with love by her uncle Jason Potter and his wife Nancy, along with many cousins, extended family members, and friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and spirit.

Adrianne was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Arvin Potter.

Those who knew Adrianne will remember her as a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and above all a dog mom whose bond with Thunder Bear was unbreakable. Her presence brought light to those around her, and her memory will continue to inspire those who carry it forward.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
