Adrienne PENNY Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on Sep. 10, 2012.
PENNY, Adrienne Laura
Adrienne Laura Penny - wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. So strong, compassionate and selfless. You have touched so many lives and have left behind so many loving hearts. Survived by her husband Walter, son Tim and daughters Cheryl and Karen, stepdaughter Debbie and 14 grandchildren. One of ten siblings - survived by her sister Theresa and brother Paul.
"In tears we saw you sinking,
And watched you pass away.
Our hearts were almost broken,
We wanted you to stay.
But when we saw you sleeping,
So peaceful, free from pain.
How could we wish you back with us,
To suffer that again."
Adrienne passed away in peace on September 6th, 2012 with her family surrounding her. Her love of painting and music will remain with us forever. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14th, 2012 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish - 10460 139th St, Surrey. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ovarian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Mom, a year since you left us, but you know it is comforting to see you every time I look in the mirror. As I grow older, so much like you.

I can't begin to tell yo how much I miss you Grandma! So many tears have been shed but even more smiles have been had as we remember all the wonderful memories we have of you. Every day a new memory comes to mind, or I remember something funny you said and it makes me smile - these things will be with me forever! You are the strongest person I know and it is so inspirational and I can only hope I can be as strong as you one day! I miss you so much Gram, and love you always xoxo

Grandma,

There are a lot of things I miss about you. I miss your smile, your laugh, your jokes and your overall personality. A grandson could not ask for a better grandmother. You and Walter have always meant a lot to me, and I know how lucky I am to have such great grandparents. You're truly the most selfless person I know, always doing things for others even when you were so sick. Not to mention all the food... that's what it all comes back to. Nobody has ever made a better apple pie than you, and I don't think such a thing would be possible. Thanks for everything. I love you and miss you.

Adrienne you will be for ever missed. You have to be one of the strongest persons i have ever known. You are one of a kind. Like your granddaughter said "there are no words to describe your strengths. you will always be in my heart, and bring a smile to my face when i think of you.

Grandma, No words can describe how much I miss you. Every little detail about you -- your laugh, your hands, your kisses, your creativity, your humor, will now become a memory that will always bring a smile to my face. You are the most beautiful, selfless, warm hearted person I know. You are an inspiration Gram. Thanks for everything you've ever taught me, every joke you've told me, and endless love you've gave me. I'm always wearing the ring you gave me, thinking of you. When I grow up I want to be just like you grandma.
We will be keeping Grandpa and Fluffy much company with much love.
Love you always - Shaelyn (Squeaks)

Grams,
You haven't left my thoughts once; I think about you every single day. You're truly the strongest, most selfless person I will ever know, and although I have not yet found a way to get over the sadness, I can't help but smile when I'm reminded of you. A best friend to my mom, and a role model to my sisters and I..
We promise to keep Grandpa and Fluffy company.
Rest In Paradise Grandma, I love you and miss youShelby

Adrienne, you will be sorely missed by your family and friends; but you'll always be as close to them in their thoughts and prayers as they keep you in their hearts and most honored in their remembrance of you.

Adrienne, I knew you briefly, but you left an indelible mark on me with your kind acceptance, your warm friendship the open sharing of your home and family with me. You're a great lady and will reside in the hearts of those who had the good fortune to cross your path in this life. Thank you.You will be missed.

Mom, so much left unsaid, so many left behind, I never got to talk to you in your last days, but there were butterflies calling you home and your last trip, reunited with loved ones waiting for you...I believe your journey will be beautiful. One day we shall meet again...Until then, know that you are and were an inspiration and very much cherished, I love you, Mom.

Mom - there's so much I've wanted to share with you about what's happened over the last few days. There's many times I've caught myself smiling because I know you would be happy with what's going on around here. We are grieving you leaving us, but you have left us so many moments that come and go through our day that it's nice to take a moment and smile through the tears. Thanks mom for everything, I will miss you. Loving you always....
