Agnes KNIPPEL Obituary

Published by Saskatoon StarPhoenix from Nov. 22 to Nov. 23, 2012.
KNIPPEL, Agnes
February 6, 1917 - November 20, 2012
Mom's heart's desire has been met - she has gone home, safe in the arms of Jesus. She leaves to mourn her passing seven children - Doris Poisson, Frieda (Lloyd) Harder, Florence (Bryan) Rempel, John (BJ), Sid, Glenda (Mel) Peters, Jacquie Toovey; twenty three grandchildren, thirty six great- grandchildren, and seven great great- grandchildren; two brothers, one sister and five sisters-in-law as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Mom was predeceased by her parents, husband Jacob, son Ferd, sons -in-law Conrad Poisson and William Block, as well as four sisters and seven brothers.
Mom was happiest in her kitchen. She loved to bake and cook and share afternoon tea with family and friends. Mom was very active in the church, serving with the Ladies Group and on Church Council. She was a woman of faith and spent time with her Bible every day. We all grew up wearing clothing she created on her treadle sewing machine. Mom's hands were never idle. She enjoyed needlepoint, knitting as well as crocheting doilies and afghans. She loved the challenge of the daily crossword and cryptoquip in the newspaper. There was never a mountain too high for mom to climb - she was a determined, strong willed achiever. We will forever be grateful for her love and care.
A celebration of mom's life will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Hague - 120 1st St. We are very grateful for the loving care mom received at the Warman Mennonite Special Care Home. In lieu of flowers donations in mom's memory may be made to Warman Mennonite Special Care Home Box 100 Warman, SK, S0K 4S0. Arrangements are entrusted to MARTENS WARMAN FUNERAL HOME.

I enjoyed your mother's singing at the care home in warman. At times we would sing hymns in German at night. It was a privaledge to care for her.God give you peace in knowing she is in her heavenly home.

I am deeply saddened by Aunt Agnes passing. Growing up a block away, I have many very fond memories of times our families visited and "drop in" faspa on weekends, always a hearty welcome from Aunt Agnes and Uncle Jake. Being out of the country at this time I regret I will not be able to attend the Memorial and see all of my cousins. I pass on my deepest condolences.
