Agi was one classy, brilliant, giving, caring woman this community will miss. She and her husband left quite a legacy here in Utah. Their good will saved many a child's life. Pure hearts of giving.

Growing up in Holladay in the 1950s, Agi was a neighbor. Her daughter Penny was one of my classmates at Oakwood Elementary School. I recall one notable event in second grade when Agi defended students from the overzealous discipline administered by our teacher. Agi called the mother of each student in the class. She reported what happened and asked them to join her in seeking a resolution. It was the first time I saw a parent vigorously standing up for children who had been treated cruelly.
Agi was a true hero. She made the community a better place through her life-long contributions.

I sent an email shortly after your mom passed away. But, I wanted to let both of you know that it was wonderful knowing Agnes in the earlier years when both you, Penny & I lived in the same neighborhood on Pheasant Way. I send to both of you my heartful condolences.

Bruce, Penny and Tim,
What a wonderful tribute to your Mother! Thanks for sharing the summary of her rich life. It was our pleasure to get to know Agi better during my time as a radiation oncology resident and staff member with Henry, yearly Christmas card exchanges and periodic visits with Agi and Henry during trips to Utah. Have a wonderful 'Celebration of Life' February 11th.
Warm regards,

Dear Plenk Family,
I am sorry for your loss & feel very fortunate to have known your dear sweet mother, Agi. When I last saw her in late October, she was so gracious, as always, enjoying her time with you, surrounded in your love. She & your father have shared with the rest of us their legacy of good will & genuine concern for all beings on this earth not only in all their good works, but also in you, their children. You embody their life's work in who you are, and in what you do, as well as in your good humor in the face of so much pain in the world. You are truly blessed to have had such wonderful parents, as are we, to have you, their children, in our lives.

To the family of Agi Plenk:
This is a woman I will always remember. When I was 14, I began to volunteer at The Children's Center. I was fortunate enough to be in the room with Agi when she would visit the groups. I truly admired her. I continued to work for the C.C. throughout high school.
When our son was 6, we knew he needed some help, so we got him into the C.C. and our work began with those wonderful people on a whole different level.
Thank you, Agi, for all you have given to the children of Utah. When I first arrived at the Children's Center, I never dreamed that someday my own son would become a part of the wonderful atmosphere of love and caring that exists there.
Truly an inspiring woman.
I send my condolences and love to your family during this time of sadness and loss.
Thankfully,

My son was one of Dr Plenk's students at the Children's Center 30 years ago. At that school he learned to talk and express feeling and improved his fine motor skills. Dr Plenk was a wonderful sweet lady that showed her love for children in many ways.

Even as I send my condolences, I'm sure Agi would prefer I celebrate her life. I can celebrate the positive influence she had in my career and life. When I was in college, I volunteered at her Children's Center on 13th East. That experience of working with children under her care was instrumental in directing me towards a wonderful career in Pediatrics. While we will miss her, we can celebrate a long and productive life, exceptionally well-lived.

I only had a few occasions to meet Agi Plenk but her inspired establishment of the Children's Center with early intervention with my daughter saved us years of searching for answers. Today my daughter is a brilliant young woman supporting herself and going to school. I was unsure 23 years ago that would have happen. I will be thankful to Agi Plenk my entire life.

I was saddened to read about Agnes' passing. The obituary was a great tribute to a grand lady. May I add one more of her accomplishments to the many that she fulfilled?
She cared for and looked after her husband Henry in his last few years in an extraordinary way. I call that true love.

Dear Penny:
I loved your mom & dad, they were a great example of good friends, active seniors, with a passion for life, and a sincere interrest in each of our lifes.
Tennis was a passion that I enjoyed with Agi & Henery watching them
play for years at the club.
May your family feel God's love at this difficult time of celebrating Agi's life.
Love to all of Agi's family
