STIER, Agnes C. (O'Leary) of Roslindale passed away peacefully on November 29, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Stier, Sr., with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. Born in Somerville, MA on September 27, 1923, to Irish immigrants John and Elizabeth (Maher) O'Leary, Agnes was the seventh born and the last living of their nine children. Loving mother of Christine Stier (Tom Fricke), the late John Stier, Joseph F. Stier, Jr. (Donna), Richard Stier (Tracey), and Barbara Stier. Cherished grandmother of John and the late Sarah Jo. Sister of the late Mary, Elizabeth, Josephine, John, Edward, Thomas, William and Therese. Also survived by her many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews of the O'Leary and Stier families.
In no particular order, Agnes enjoyed cake decorating, knitting (you may be a lucky recipient of a Christmas stocking knitted by Agnes), crocheting, a good cup of black coffee, a hot cup of tea, crossword puzzles, reading the Boston Globe and Boston Herald (print versions), scratch tickets, the Daily Number, baking (we'll miss her sour cream coffee cake and chocolate chip cookies), bus trips to Foxwoods, Roslindale Square, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Bingo, visiting with friends and family, mystery books, ceramics, honey-dipped donuts, Fornax Bakery, walking (people were always saying to her "I saw you walking . . .,"), and a rider of the T into her late 80s. A late member of the Villagers of Roslindale senior group.
Visiting hours will be held in the Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., West Roxbury on Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Monday morning December 5th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, 169 Cummins Hwy., Roslindale at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment New Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Agnes may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 169 Cummins Hwy., Roslindale, MA 02131 (sh-roslindale.org). What a wonderful and sweet lady she was my neighbor on washington st across archdale . We all seemed to move at the same time. I would always see her walking she never wanted a ride. She enjoyed her walks. It was a pleasure to know her. R i P. Leigh

Everyone at Lords &Ladys Hair Salon is saddened to hear that Agnes had passed. She was a regular client at the salon for the past 50 years. Everyone new and loved her she was always the same cheerful person.
