Aida Hughes

Aida Hughes, age 37, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021. Aida loved with her whole heart and was a selfless, caring person, who remained that way till the day she had to let go and fall into the arms of JESUS. Spending time with her husband, the love of her life, and her two sons is what brought her great pleasure. Oh, and let's not forget her Mia! She loved her dog. If you know Aida, you know that family meant the world to her and she did everything to make sure intentional time was spent with her dad, mom, siblings, nieces and nephews. Once a month and holidays were spent eating together and just hanging out. She was employed by Michigan Pain Consultants of Holland as a Clinical Team Lead. She enjoyed working with her co-workers, who she loved and considered friends, and also helping the patients that came in. Any friend of Aida knows that she would always treat you like family and would consider you a life-long friend. Aida's last few weeks of life were lived in Holland Hospital, and she was thankful for the new friends she made among the staff. She fought hard against COVID and its complications, and even though she wasn't able to return home to her family and friends, they find peace in knowing that she heard the words "Well done thou good and faithful servant" on the day she left this earth and entered the gates of Heaven and fell into the arms of the One she loved and trusted in here on earth, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Aida found refuge under His wings as it reads in Psalms 91:4 NIV, "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." She is survived by her husband, Ralph Hughes Jr.; son, Jewelian Gonzales; son, Roman Hughes; parents, Vicente (Elia) Jaimes; sister, Christina (Michael) Kelley; brother, Vincente (Blanca) Jaimes; brother, Daniel Jaimes; sister-in-law, Jennifer (Dan) Hathaway; sister-in-law, Jenny (Tony) Milanowski; mother-in-law, Mary (Mike) Yarmer; father-in-law, Ralph (Pamela) Hughes Sr.; 12 nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation with the family is 5:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Holland First Assembly of God, 1331 E. 16th St. Holland, MI 49423. Funeral services are 2:00 pm on Friday, September 3, 2021, also at Holland First Assembly of God with Pastor Mike Houser officiating. Burial to take place in Graafschap Cemetery.
