In memory of
Dmitri Patalakha
May 20, 2019
It is difficult to believe that there passed 10 years from the Aki Yokosawa date of death because we never forgot him. He is remembered as the outstanding scientist and it is difficult to overestimate his contribution to science of elementary particle physics. He was a great man, and a wonderful family man and we continue to
grieve over the irreplaceable loss together with his family. I am sure we will remember him so far our hearts fight.

Though I only knew Dr. Yokosawa through a professional relationship I truly enjoyed each of his visits to the office. Some people have this gift whereby they are able to live great lives but somehow remain totally unassuming. You know he had this twinkle in his eyes. God Bless!!

I am very sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working on a physics project lead by Aki at Fermilab some years ago. Aki was always a lot of fun to work with because of his spirited enthusiasm and good nature. My condolences to the Yokosawa family.

My deepest sympathy and prayers go to the Yokosawa family on this occasion of loss. I worked with Aki on a particle physics experiment at Fermilab, E704, in the late 80's and early 90's. I truly enjoyed working with Aki in his role as the enthusiastic leader of this endeavor. Under his leadership, we were successful in carrying out a unique particle physics experiment with a relatively small group and a limited budget. Above and beyond that, he was a good man who truly cared about the people with whom he worked. I especially recall observing his kindness toward the young graduate students and postdocs.

Mr Yokosawa was always so much fun to be around. He and Mrs Yokosawa were kind enough to include me (on Tina's behalf) in family gatherings or for holiday meals when I lived in Chicago and could not get home to my family. I used to love to watch Japanese movies with him...actually it was more fun to watch him watch them as he sat laughing in his small rocking chair. He considered it a personal challenge to get me to eat sushi...a delightful man. My prayers are with his family.

Dear Yokosawa Family,
I have been a friend of Martin for some years. I am so sorry for your loss. What a wonderful and descriptive obituary as I now feel like I know "Aki". Your lives will always be filled with all of the wonderful memories of Aki and in that way he will always be with you. You are all lucky to have been part of his life and I am happy that he did not linger for a prolonged period of time. He clearly knew that he passed on surrounded by the love of those that brought him joy.
All of the best during this difficult time.
