Akiko Noda Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on Nov. 7, 2015.
Akiko Noda July 28 1931- October 17, 2015 Passed away peacefully in her sleep, survived by sisters Mitsue, Yoshiko, Yoko, brother Toshio, children Rika (Duncan), Dwight (Stephanie), Mark (partner Susanne Milka), extended family Paula Turner, grandchildren Jessika, Tasia, Evan, Jenna, Gareth, Naomi, Miko, Kobe. Pre deceased by her husband Misaho, daughter Alisa

Born in Yokohama, Japan, our mother grew up through the difficult war era, however she was driven to complete her post secondary education, playing varsity volleyball and ballet dancing before she took her first job as a payroll accountant. After the war our father brought her to Vancouver where she proudly raised four active children, worked many retail jobs, and volunteering in the Japanese community.

In her retirement years her loves were family and her adored 8 grandchildren, gardening, and travelling the world with friends and family.

At our mother's request no service will be held. Flowers and koden gratefully declined

Dwight, Mark and Rika,

Sorry to hear about your loss.

Your mother was always the most elegant woman In a room. I have always admired her poise and grace.

Bye-bye Auntie!
