I met Al 42 years when we worked together on a promotion together. We remained friends throughout the years. He was also so kind and thoughtful. I never heard him say a bad word about anyone and he loved his family. I will miss him so much!

Al was a great entertainment professional. He was a superb announcer and a wonderful professional friend. My few minutes spent with him before Suns' games as I prepared to perform the National Anthem was priceless. One of the nicest people I've ever known. I will miss you Al! Russ Capri

My deepest sympathy to Al's family. Al was a long time friend beginning at Glendale Community College. He did all our radio ads and introduced many of our students to some Suns player. I'm forever grateful and wish you Al a blessed rest in peace. We will miss you, and look forward to meeting again in the hereafter.
Thanks for playing the piano for us too! ---Graciela Figueroa

Al is one of the people that inspired me to get into a 42 year career in radio. I even worked at KRUX...the station Al was a disc jockey on ten years after I met him. My mom went to the same church as Al and Georgia. A truly mild mannered, nice person in an industry filled with ego maniacs. Al was always natural, kind and down to earth. He was truly one of the "good guys" in radio and in real life. RIP my friend!

Al was the best play by play basketball broadcaster in the history of the NBA.
I moved here from NY at the age of 17 in 1978. I grew up listening to Marv Albert in NYC and YES, in my opinion Al was the very best of the best..
On top of his tremendous talent, Al was a treasure of a person..
Salt of the Earth! RIP Al !
