I had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful Mr. Alan Armer in Los Angeles in late 2003. He was not only a very talented filmmaker but he was also a very nice and generous person. Mr. Armer produced one of my most favourite television shows, THE INVADERS, which I've adored since I was a kid.
I sent a private message of condolence to his family via his e-mail address and I hope they received it.

I remember Alan from L.A. High School, and going to Sunday school (assuming this is the same Alan Armer). Great guy! Rest in peace.

Alan was a terrific professor. Many of the skills and insights I learned in his classes I have taken to my many jobs in the industry. I was so impressed by his teaching presence as a student that I nominated him for the distinguished teaching award in 1990 in which he was the first for our department to win. He was a very generous person and will be solely missed.
