ALAN VERNE ARNOLD

SPRING - Alan Verne Arnold was born March 15, 1933, in Cuero, and died Sept. 23, 2011 at his home in Spring with his loving family at his bedside.
Alan was the former owner of P&A Gulf Service and employee of DeMontrond Buick. He was a member of Living Word Lutheran Church in the Woodlands. He served as an assistant scoutmaster of Troop 428. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany. Most recently he worked with his son, Steven Arnold, D.C. in his office.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira V. and Callie Merle Arnold; and grandson, Anthony Barwick.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Bettye Arnold; his daughters, Shelley Montgomery of Spring, Shelia and husband Daniel James of Palestine; son, Steven V. Arnold, DC and fiancé Martha Harrington of Spring; and adopted son, Fred Pesek of Bay City; grandchildren: Jessica Robertson, Naomi Barwick, Christina and husband John Michael Woolbert, Michelle Arnold-Barwick, Parker Arnold, Kyle Pesek, and Perry James; and great-granddaughter, Alaina Arnold-Barwick. He is also survived by his brother, Olan R. and wife Joycelynn Arnold of Yoakum; sisters, Myra and husband Curtis Booth of Cuero and Kay Bulgerin of Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Alan's life is set for 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 at Living Word Lutheran Church, 9500 N. Panther Creek Dr., The Woodlands, TX 77381.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Living Word Lutheran Church building fund, Boy Scouts of America, Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) or other charity of your choice.
