In memory of
Joel Grove
September 14, 2016
Although I have not seen Alan in decades, news of his passing saddens me greatly. I cannot remember a single second we spent together in the office, on the golf course or breaking bread that was not a pleasure. The grief his family and close friends feel must surely be great indeed. May faith help you through these tough times and bless you abundantly with many sweet memories. God Bless you. Rest in peace, Alan.

Al was a great friend. We travelled to many sporting events together. Al always had a great respect for God and his friends. I will always remember him as the best man at our wedding. I am sure God will have a special place for him at his table.

Alan, aka "Boomer" was a good friend...we worked together at BSB back in the mid-70s and early 80s. He loved his family and he loved sports. His knowledge of baseball was incredible...legendary. He was a gentle soul who will be missed by all who knew him. RIP Boomer...we will meet again someday.

I had the pleasure of working with and getting to know Alan. You will never meet a nicer man than Alan. He was an encyclopedia of baseball knowledge, especially on his beloved Pirates.

Elaine,
I have been trying to find the words to say to you, but there are no words. I am so sorry for your loss. The four years I spent sitting next to Alan were some of my best years at the bank. He made each day fun and happy. Heaven has certainly received an angel. May light perpetual shine upon him. God Bless you and keep you Alan Bloem.....You will be forever missed.
Love, Christine

Alan...the Philly Eagles fan. You and I had nice conversations about our teams, given I liked the Vikings. You always saw the other point of view. You were a true gentleman. Rest well Eagle.

I am so sorry to learn of Alan's passing. I worked with him years ago and shared an interest in sports, especially Syracuse basketball. We attended several games together. He was always decent and fair to everyone he worked with.
I also had the highest respect for his parents, whom I was fortunate to know. When my mother died, Alan's 80 year old father drove from Owego to Binghamton at night by himself to pay his respects to me. I will never forget that.
My thoughts and prayers are with Elaine, Linda, and with the rest of Alan's family and friends.
