Inspirational
It is heartbreaking to hear that my former teacher has sadly passed away. He was a brilliant teacher, inspirational and a lovely man who's sense of humour brightened the day. RIP Mr Brooks Tyreman, my memories of being taught by you still make me laugh. Gone too soon. X

Such an inspiration - so saddened to hear this.
Mr Brooks-Tyreman was an outstanding teacher and full of terrific quotes - he never turned a blind eye on any wrong-doings and I can still see him saying "to ignore is to condone" which has stayed with me for over 20years.

Wonderful Teacher, Stood Out From a Crowd
Harton School: Class of 2005
I was taught by Mr Brooks-Tyreman for only one year but he left a big impression on what teaching can and should be about. I was fortunate to be around him as our form class spent registration in his history classroom - I remember with fondness how he joked that I had to water his plants.
He will be fondly remembered by all who met him, even those like myself who weren't in his classroom for the longest period of time. He leaves inspiration for generations of school-leavers, and as I embark on my first experience of teaching, his influence will be inevitably carried on.
Happy thoughts and fond memories to celebrate a life that is rich and most deservedly worth celebrating.

The best teacher, I think a lot will agree, judging by comments here, he brought history alive, I have often spoken/thought about him to this day.
Thoughts are with his family and friends

Respected and Liked
Deepest sympathy to Mr Brooks-Tyremans family. As the parent of 2 sons taught by this wonderful teacher, I can say he helped them on their way to great success in History GCSE. My eldest son gained A* 10 years ago and just today an A for my son in Yr 10. They liked and admired him as a person and as a teacher. Thank you. RIP

A huge loss for Education and Everyone who knew him.
Mr. Brooks-Tyreman was one of the best teachers I had, he is one of the reasons I chose to become a history teacher. He brought the subject matter to life and connected the content to things that mattered to a class of teenagers. I remember visiting the school years after graduating and he still had a picture I had drawn of Garfield dressed in Egyptian garb on his noticeboard. I believe he truly cared for his students and I am a better teacher because of the influence he had on me as a child. My thoughts go out to his family and all of the Harton Technology students and staff.
