I just learned of Alan's passing from another relative Robin Raborn, so apologies to the family and friends for my delayed notes.

I am one of Alan's cousins; his mother Dorothea "Dode" was my father's (Marvin Benson's) sister. Alan was 3 years older than I and we began our lives sharing a large tub and a garden hose playing in the Boynton Beach FL home of our grandfather Harry Benson. We have pictures and a family 8mm movie clip of the outdoor fun with Alan's brother John.

My wife Barbara and I enjoyed our visits with Alan and Diana at one of their CA homes in Pasadena. Alan was an AMAZING landscape designer and plant architect and their home was a masterpiece of conscious design. We had an open invitation from them to join them in watching the nearby Rose Bowl Parade, but one of my regrets is that we never could work out taking them up on their offer.

Alan was always close with my parents and I am forever grateful to him for his love and support to me during the memorial services of my mother in 1997 and my father in 2009. I think that was the last time I was with Alan in person. I have nothing but fond and loving memories of Alan and Diana. If anyone can let me know where Diana is or what her contact numbers are I would like to speak with her. Much love and respect, Craig Benson

Alan was a undergrad classmate at Cal Poly, Pomona, CA. He got the nickname "Click" I think because he was always clicking a ball point pen. He was one of those people who could have gone into a dozen careers and done well. I'm glad he picked Landscape Architecture as the projects he worked on will be a lasting legacy to his talents.

It was such a pleasure to get to meet Mr Alan during his stay here with us. He would always push up my glasses for me. Lol. I thought that was so sweet of him. I remember the first night he was here we got him up and back to bed I asked him did we do good job he said yeah good job but I couldn't get him to say anything anymore that night lol. My coworker always got him to smile for us and we loved him very much. He will be truly missed but is in a much better place now. My heart goes out to Mrs Clarke and his whole family.
