Alan was my friend. He was the kind of friend we all want to have. He was never self-absorbed. I am very thankful for all the time we shared. He was genuinely interested in what was happening in my life as well as many others. I can honestly say Alan never boasted about his achievements. He was a very humble man. I enjoyed his view of just about everything.
I read of a Hebrew Proverb: "Say not in grief, `He is no more´ but in thankfulness that he was".
Your forever friend,
Valerie Bandersky

I loved my dad and I'm happy we made so many good memories together. But beyond being my dad, there are a handful of ways I will remember him that I hope others will appreciate:
1) He loved to practice law. It was so much more than his profession. It was a huge part of his identity.
2) He loved the Cleveland Indians. We enjoyed so many games together including a belated 75th birthday celebration at Progressive Field, when Francisco Lindor hit a walk off home run on a 2-2 pitch at the bottom of the 10th inning, and his 60th birthday when we were invited to sit in the owner's box at Angel Stadium with Mark Shapiro, the General Manager, thanks to some insider connections.
3) He loved his home in Pittsford, Vermont, and I believe he's back there in spirit.
4) He loved his brothers and proudly embraced his role as older brother to David and Richard.
5) He loved me.
