Alan Carlton Goulding Sr.

GOULDING - Alan Carlton Sr., a 30 year resident of Allendale, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 75 on Friday, July 7th, 2006. Beloved husband of Linda for 33 years. Former President and CEO of U.S. A&P retail operations. He was formerly senior executive Vice President at the Grand Union Co. and President of its Colonial Stores division. He played college football for the University of Arizona Wildcats before later graduating from Rutgers in 1957. He served with the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean Conflict and was discharged with the rank of 1st Lt. 9th Infantry Division and member of the 101st Airborne Division. Received the Combat Infantry Badge, U.N. Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, and the Nation Defense Service Medal. Devoted father of Laura, Mona, Alan and Pamela (pre-deceased 1989). Also survived by granddaughters Lillian and Melody and husband Matt Jones, sister and brother-in-law Marjorie and Gil Drake; niece Lillian and husband Vincent and their children, Carlee, Emily, Joseph and Jessica; niece Jina, nephew Joseph and wife Cindy and their children Madelyn and Morgan. Alan is also survived by his cousins Pat, Barbara, Dorothy, Susan, Rosemary, Maureen, Francis, Bradley and Georgina. Funeral services provided by the Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ 07450, 201-444-7650. Family and friends may visit Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Guardian Angel RC Church, Allendale on Tuesday at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
