Joan and Alan were very good friends of the family. Dominic Weir (my dad) and Alan worked together at the RPO and the LPO. Wendy (my mum) and Joan were both singers at Sadlers Wells. We went on many family holidays together, including the Dodogne. We have such fond memories of the Hammonds. My lasting memory of Joan was sitting in their garden in North London, drinking gin and smoking. And Alan with his passion for bassoons and a twinkle in the eye - he was a very funny man. We loved them dearly like family. Dad died before Alan in 2013 and mum passed in 2021. We have some great photos of them all - if any family see this message, please contact me and I'll send them digitally across.
