Alan Klein Obituary
Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 22, 2025.
Alan Seth Klein, of the Bronx, NY; Montville, NJ; and Boca Raton, FL, passed peacefully surrounded by his beloved family and friends on November 19. Alan leaves behind his two sons, Ross Klein and his wife Alyssa, and Linden Klein and his wife Lia. He was affectionately known as Papa A to his 3 granddaughters Reagan, Eliza, and Natalie Klein.
Alan grew up in the Bronx, the son of Ruth and Leo Klein, and brother to Bruce Klein. He fondly re-told of his upbringing–passing his time playing sports, excelling in school, and spending his summers at the Pine Grove in the Catskills. Often, Alan shared stories of how much he loved and appreciated the sacrifices of his parents. He went on to attend Lehman College, where he was the president of two fraternities. In the summer, he worked as a maitre'd at the Pine Grove, and he retold experiences from this time with great pride. From his college cafeteria, he began an illustrious career in the insurance industry. Among his many professional achievements, he managed 7 branches and integrated over 100 agencies at the NIA group. His relationships in business were deeply meaningful to him, at Omni Planning, NIA, the Mack Group, and beyond. Alan was a mentor and coach to countless insurance agents and a catalyst for the inception of their careers.
Alan loved good wine, good friends, exercise, and golf. He was a loyal and dedicated fan of New York sports– specifically the Yankees, Giants, Knicks, and Rangers. He found an idol in Mickey Mantle and enjoyed recounting sports facts and history to anyone that would listen. There was always a seat at a bar waiting for Alan to come in and share with good company, and he truly loved those he gathered with. As a father, he was unmatched in his warmth, candor, and concern. He would entertainingly recall his time coaching Linden's youth basketball team and helping a young Ross to learn about investing. Later in life, Alan enjoyed spending time with Ross participating in fantasy sports leagues and having lengthy discussions about professional sports. During the pandemic he worked closely with Linden to write a book detailing the trials and triumphs of his life. Alan was the proudest of grandfathers and enjoyed any moment he was with his 3 granddaughters. He was excited to learn he would soon have a 4th granddaughter joining the family. Alan loved reading stories to his grandchildren, asking them thought-provoking questions and encouraging them to try new foods. He loved to make people laugh and was deeply generous to those he encountered who needed it most. Alan was a fabulous story teller and will be missed by all those who knew him.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his funeral on Sunday, November 30th at 12:15 pm at Cedar Park and Beth El Cemeteries in the rotunda, located at 735 Forest Ave, Paramus, NJ, 07652.
