Alan W. McMahan, age 68, of South Knoxville, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. Alan was a member of Local 818 Laborers Union. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was known by his co-workers as "Papaw". He was preceded in death by his father, A.W. McMahan, his mother Lucille McMahan; his sister, Norma Jean Maranville. Alan is survived by his brothers, David McMahan of Maryville; and Jim McMahan of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Shirley Martin of Maryville, Tennessee; Linda Ruth of Jacksonville, Florida; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway. Condolences may be offered at www.berryfuneralhome.com
