I´m sorry to hear of Alan´s passing. I was his hair stylist for about 20 years at OnStage Salon in Glenview. I always enjoyed having him in my chair and sharing Swedish stories with me. I´m Swedish too! So sorry for your loss.

Bigger than life, funny as hell, and a man who you knew (even as a young kid) loved his girls more than life and laughed with Joanne about everything. Alan was one of a handful of sudo-neighborhood dads we all had growing up in Evanston. I don´t think any of us realized at the time how rare it was to have so many families forge such a multi-family neighborhood bond. Alan,Joanne, Pete, Josie, Jess, Jean, Kay, Bob, Sue, Jerry and Alice. What a group of loving and crazy parents we grew up with. You will be missed Alan. My deepest sympathies to the whole family.

May Alan´s memory be for blessing always. I will remember his kindness, his authentic, lighthearted yet deeply caring way. It was comforting to be amongst the family friends growing up with Alan´s warm presence. Condolences and warmest regards to all who knew and loved Alan.

My parents,Bob and Sue Hill were best friends with Alan and Joanne at Senn HS and remained so for the rest of their lives. Joanne and Alan were my sister, Karen and my Godparents. They were a vital part of my childhood. Alan loved to tell funny stories on how he would torture my father with his pranks. I have loving memories of them and their daughters. With much love, Patty

I remember having sleepovers at your house watching Creature Features and especially one time, when a song came on and your Dad swept your Mom into his arms and they started to dance. Pure love.
