Alastair RANKIN

I have great memories of our student days together. Rest in Peace Alastair.

Freda and family, you are in my prayers and thoughts at this difficult time. I consider myself so lucky to have known and worked with Al for over twenty five years at the Justik Clinic. When I think of Al, he makes me smile. I always enjoyed my lunches with Al and our runs down at Kinsmen Park. Al was a very kind and tender person who touched so many lives in such a positive way. I will carry my memories of him for the rest of my days. He will be in my heart and prayers forever.

Laurence and I were saddened to hear the news. Al was a gentle man and we enjoyed curling with him.

We are sorry to hear of Alastair's passing. He truly was a great man. Of course, I have many curling memories of him, but he was also a member of my '67 Medical Class and it was so amazing to us that this "older" guy had given up his career and was about to embark on a new one. Alastair was a pleasure to know and a rewarding person in every way. He had a gentle humour, wide ranging knowledge and a spectrum of interests. We shared a love of the arts, particularly his beloved baroque chamber music. He was ever supportive and you knew his support was based on his deep understanding of subject, be it science, finance, social or our natural world.To say he will be missed is a shade of our larger loss.

As members of the Ottewell Seniors Curling League, we have many fond memories of Al. He was always a gentleman and we all consider him a good friend. Rest in peace, friend.

My sincere condolences. Al was my first skip in the Edmonton Doctor's Curling League. He was such a patient, understanding teacher who did so much to help me to stick with and learn to love the game. He will be missed.

Freda, all of Al's friends in the Edmonton Doctors Curling League miss his commitment and gentle humor. He curled into this current year's schedule and was always a valued team mate.
Please pass on our condolences to all his family and professional associates. Al was one of the truly "great guys".

Dr. Rankin was such a lovely man to work with at WCB. He was so compassionate with the patients. He will be missed.

I will always cherish to fun times we shared while on the ACC family camps in the mountains, both summer and winter. My thoughts are with you all.
