Alaxander J. Kachmarik

Alaxander J. Kachmarik, 87, of Charleroi, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, in the Washington County Health Center. He was born Feb. 12, 1916, in Monessen, a son of the late Anthony Kachmarik and Aniela Rankinen Kachmarik. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and a member of the Lions Club and Ravens A.A., all in Monessen. Mr. Kachmarik had been very involved with the Little League baseball and Midget League football programs in Monessen. He had also served as a school director with the Monessen School District. He is survived by five children, Sally Williams of Charleroi, Joan Young of San Francisco, Calif., Thomas M. Kachmarik of Texas, Fred A. Kachmarik of Pittsburgh, and Edward R. Kachmarik of San Francisco; eight grandchildren, Kim, Sam and Paul Williams, Doug and Jennifer Young, and Alicia, Aubrey, and Nathan Kachmarik; and three great-grandsons, Dylan, Fletcher and Greyson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Mankedick; one son, William K. Kachmarik; three brothers, Mike, John and Anthony Kachmarik; and three sisters, Mary Smock, Anne Cheroki and Zella Sutovich. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, a Golden Rule Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Senge officiating.
