Dear Bev, Graham, Meredith, Adam and Nick:

It is hard to say good bye to someone you have known your entire life. Your memories of Al as a father, father-in-law and grandfather will be a blessing to you.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life’s routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

When I think of Uncle Al, I think of laughter. We've lost a good one with his passing. He leaves a hole in our lives, but he filled it with love.

I remember Al with affection, respect and a smile. He was a wonderful grandfather to Meredith. We will never forget his unhesitating love for her. His passing is a great loss. From Al's former daughter-in-law, Meredith's mother -

He was a true gentleman, and we had many discussions about the state of the world, politics, and his war experiences.
