Celebration of Life Service for Albert Carrillo Avalos, age 70, of Angleton will be 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Angleton First Assembly of God Church, 329 N Anderson Street, Angleton, Texas 77515 (979) 849-6112 where Brother Mike Hammonds is Pastor and Officiator.
Albert was born on June 19, 1951 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Manuel Avalos and Maria Carrillo and passed away peacefully on Friday, October 22, 2021 when angels carried him into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He met and married Dionisia “Mary” Torres on May 22, 1970 in Corpus Christi, Texas. They moved to the Brazoria County area in the late 70’s and lived within the towns of West Columbia and Angleton until now.
Throughout his adult life, he worked for Georgia Pacific in Corpus Christi and both the cable company and concrete company in West Columbia during the 80’s. The job he loved most was as a truck driver. He was employed for over 40 years in transportation for Ace Transportation and Weatherford International which afforded him to travel all over the United States. He visited so many places and met so many people. He always had stories to tell of his travels. He could tell you how long it took to get from one town to the next or name a town or city and he could tell you where the most popular eating places were.
In 1996 He and his wife, accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior when they attended Amistad Cristiana Church in West Columbia under the leadership of Pastor Pedro Pablo Ramirez. They eventually moved to Angleton and began attending Angleton First Assembly of God Church under the leadership of Pastor Mike Hammonds. His faith through those years would help him overcome so many obstacles in his latter years.
In 2009 Albert had a stroke and spent 21 days in the hospital having to learn to walk, eat, dress, bathe and speak again. 2017 had other obstacles for Albert. He had a triple bypass. In both instances the doctors didn’t think he would make it through but Albert’s faith with God’s Grace and Mercy carried him through each of those ordeals. He was a man of faith and took every opportunity to speak about the word of God and give everyone he met his testimony. Even until his last days he continued to share with people about his faith and his testimony.
Albert loved the Houston Astros and tried to never miss a game on TV. He also loved fishing in his younger days but his job on the road took time away from that pastime.
He loved his wife (Dionisia) “Mary” dearly and after having to retire due to his stroke he spent the rest of his years always putting her first. When she would come home for her lunch break he would always make sure she had a hot meal waiting as he waited for her so they could eat together.
Albert’s family was his most prize possession. His grandchildren and spending time with them was his most favorite pastime. He enjoyed watching them grow and accomplish different things.
Preceding Albert in death are his parents and siblings, Juana Prado, Lupe Avalos and Joe Carrillo.
Left to cherish precious memories are his loving wife of many years, Dionisia (Mary) Avalos; four children, Rosemary (Lazaro) Pavon; Christine and Cynthia Avalos and Albert (Ana) Avalos; grandchildren, Adrian and Atiana Avalos and Nancy Pavon as well as other nieces, nephews, other relatives and lifelong friends.
