Albert "Bob" Robert Stierstorfer

I always appreciated Bob sharing stories during class-offering insight to 13- and 14-year-olds that, as we got older, we realized was truly valuable.

From an athlete´s perspective, he would often remind us: "There´s always someone out there working and practicing harder than you."

Bob had a deep love for both music and sports. I remember one particular Friday at St. Pius V-the boys´ basketball team was getting ready to play at St. Catherine´s, where Bob was their coach. You could tell his players had a level of discipline that stood out.

Then, the very next morning, there he was-serving as a lifeguard at Tower 1 in Huntington Beach. Tireless.

Bob was a man of unwavering commitment: to his students, his athletes, his work, and above all, his family. Words can only begin to describe the strength of his Christian values, his work ethic, and his love for others.

Mr. S was my teacher at St. Pius. He gave me a ride home on his motorcycle after my Mom forgot me at school one day. He was a great teacher. Condolences to his family on their profound loss.

Mr. S was my teacher and coach at St. Pius V in Buena Park, CA. Mr. S never resorted to adding to my list of detentions, he seemed most fond of physical exercise, picking up trash or sticking me in a trash can. My 7th and 8th grade years studying math with Mr. S put me far ahead when I entered high school. St. Pius V class of 79 rocked with Mr. S, Rest in Peace.

About 5 years after I graduated high school, I was working as a clerical substitute for the school district and ended up working at Ramona for a few days. It was the first time I had been on campus since I left jr high back in June 1991 so probably 10 years. I was sitting in the front office and Stuffy walks in and stops right in his tracks in front of me. (I almost screamed because he was actually wearing his "tree" outfit!!!) I looked up at him and smiled. He incredulously said "Kristina?"

I said "omg yes! How on earth did you remember my name?! You have been teaching for SO many years and have had SO many students come through your classroom. I wasn´t even a bad one!" (Thinking that teachers probably remember the bad kids who they had to discipline frequently) but he just smiled and said "You forget the bad ones and remember the good ones."

It was so sweet. I got up and gave him a BIG Stuffy hug. I wish we had smartphones back then because I definitely would have taken a photo. He was one of my most favorite teachers ever!

He Truly was a gentle giant and a favorite teacher of mine at Ramona. God Bless him. His memory will forever be planted on my heart. Prayers to his family that God´s strength carry you through

I was his TA in the 7 and 8th grade at Ramona. He was one of a kind teacher who to this day left a lasting impression on me. What a great human he was

I remember first seeing Bob as a substitute teacher when I taught, and later when I also subbed in PV Schools, most often at PInnacle High. Then as I ate breakfast early at 40th Street cafe, he and his buddies greeted me, shared jokes and laughed. He and I would talk about the changing school system and lack of subs. After I retired, I did not always get to breakfast so early. If I did, he was there. He was always kind to me and I knew I would see a friend.

My heart goes out to you as have to adjust to this loss. I met you one Sunday when I had breakfast at 40th Street and he introduced you to me. I could not get to the funeral, but I wanted to share a few notes with you about Bob.

The Stierstofer family always were full of fun, love and welcome arms throughout highschool. I especially remember the time we got to meet all the chocolate lab puppies. I know this wonderful man was so loved and he loved so much in return. I am thankful and lucky to have been surrounded by this second family.

We are so saddened to hear of the passing of Bob. What a legacy he leaves of a large loving family who will carry on in his footsteps.
Keith remembers how much fun he was to be around during the bike ride from Rosarita to Ensenada Mexico with Priscilla cheering them on.
Linda remembers how he always had a smile on his face and happiness in his heart, even in the difficult times, which we are sure was caused by his love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, and his family.
It will be hard to go on without him, precious family, but remember how much he loved each one of you and that you will all be together again someday.

Condolences to Pricella and family. My brother Ron Fekete told us he saw Bob's name mentioned on FB. Happy for you are your long happy marriage. We are now living again in Fullerton where we all met!

Every Sunday at grandmas he was always making us laugh; it was never the same when he wasn't there! I have never been around him when he wasn't laughing at some point. And he was always ready and willing to lend a hand. I remember having a lot of fun camping with him; he loved the outdoors! He will be missed!
