It's hard to describe what Big Al was to everyone. To me, and our friends/ family, he was a legend. A hard worker, awesome family man, and always made you feel welcome in his home. As a little leaguer, he was a great coach. He was also one of my best friend's dad. Without trying, everyone liked him. Without compromising his ideals and opinions, everyone respected him. You could not teach the kind of principles he stood for. The last time I spent with Mr. & Mrs. DALo was as classic as any day I spent in their kitchen...both instructing me on the best practices to prepare the hot sausage sandwiches for our boyhood crew. BOTH of them obviously knew best! I'm gonna miss you Mr. D, but I'm sure you've got the winning hand up in heaven. Say hi to Ty for us.

I was very saddened yesterday when I was told that Al has left us. As I look through dictionaries and various on-line resources, I can't find the right words to express my sorrow. When we would play golf together at South Hills CC, more often than not, Al and his partner would take a few dollars from me and my partner. [Maybe it had something to do with their accounting backgrounds !!! Seriously, they also played very well !!!]
I (and I am sure others) already miss him. You have my deepest sympathies.

Dear Annie and Family,
I am sorry to hear about Al's passing. When he volunteered to edit the first edition of the emailed Gator Gazette at the class reunion, I could never have imagined that it would be the last project we would work on together. But what a good memory it is. I will keep him in my prayers and, as we often joked about, you are either Italian or want to be Italian.

Oh, Annie,
Dave and I are so sad. If they did a movie of Al's "It's a Wonderful Life", the influence Al had on our lives would be a big chapter. He started my career in Pittsburgh and taught me to be great and strong when women weren't common in public accounting. My mom even wanted him to be President so she could watch that "good-lookin' Al D'Alo" on TV. His intelligence, humor and spirit have had a lasting impact on our profession, our community, and our lives. We've lost a good friend and an unforgettable character, but a smile comes to our faces as we remember him. I am so lucky to have known him.

Dear Annie and family, Loosing a loved one is never easy. Al D'Alo, Jubilee,my favorite name for him, was a dear friend, who comforted Jack and I through his note of wisdom and sympathy, when our dear son, Joe, was born to Eternal Life.
Find comfort that Al is no longer suffering and is at peace. Loving Al too, your friends, Jack and Em

They broke the mold with Al Sr. He was a straight shooter who always gave you the advice you needed, not necessarily the advance you wanted to hear. Funny, caring, charismatic...the type of individual you could listen to for hours and never be bored. Getting to see him and being with him was a treat for me...he always focused on what you were saying and always offered tidbits of "life advice." Like the rest of those who came to know Al Sr., I will miss him immensely. To Al Jr., Annie and the rest of the D'Alo family, my deepest sympathies on Al's passing...remember the good times...he provided so many of us with so many of those...

My deepest condolences. No matter what age our loved one is when they pass it hurts deeply and we need to take time to grieve. We were not created to die so even after thousands of years it is foreign to us. Rely on those around you, take care of your health and rely on God in prayer. He is there for us even when othhers can't be. Phillippians 4:8,9
