Dear Fellingers,

My heart is broken. The ever present Uncle Al is not here anymore. He was like a second father to me and my siblings. He stepped up without anyone asking and never stopped. From when I was 8 to 46, he has always been a huge part of my life. I love him so much. He gave to me so generously as a child with magical Christmas gifts and as an adult with guidance of planning for my kids futures. What I am most grateful for and will miss the most is just spending time with him. He always included my family in simple bbqs and get togethers. And when we'd invite him and Aunt Mary Beth to our home for a Bears game or First Holy Communion, he always came bearing his cans of Bud. I will miss knowing he's only a phone call away or a fun visit at one of his favorite places for a burger.

He gave me, my siblings and my own children a lifetime of memories that build a sense of family, tradition, confidence and a feeling of being loved.

I miss you so much already Uncle Al. God Bless you and your sweet family, Kurt, Beth, Paul, Mark and Aunt Mary Beth and all of your grandkids.

There is no one like you...

Love, Claudia

Dear fellingers

The world has lost one of its true gentlemen. Mr Felinger had a remarkable influence on our dad, and was one of his most cherished friends. So many, many happy times together. His wise counsel , warm smile and great wit will be sorely missed.

Mr. Fellinger will be remembered by our family for his kindness, charm, and wit. But above all, as one of life's rare friends, whose companionship was equally cherished in hard times and great cheer. The warmth of his memory will be felt always.

My fondest childhood memories are still the Thanksgivings spent at the Fellinger household, with rain/shine/sleet/snow 'Turkey Bowl' pairings rewarded with sumptuous dinners and a bounty of family and friends. I looked forward to them, - and to seeing Al every year. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Al was such a gentle, beautiful soul. RIP

Dear Kurt and family,

Despite the sorrow, there must be great joy among you in celebration and remembrance of the gifts your father bestowed on those he knew and loved, and those less fortunate.

You're in our thoughts and prayers.

It's hard to put into words the legacy that Al Fellinger has left behind in the organization he founded, Santa for the Very Poor. On behalf of all our directors and the thousands of less-fortunate children and families that have been helped as a direct result of Al's efforts, I want to thank him for the gifts he has bestowed on all of us. His legacy of caring and helping those who desperately need it will live on and his good works will continue through all of us current and future directors of SVP.

Too many Al stories to even start to scratch the surface. He was a cherished " Honorable Member " of the Brewbauchers. Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family, they just don't make 'em like that anymore, his passing is felt deeply by many.
