Dear Family :
Please accept my condolences on the passing of Dr.Hohol.He was a kind and warm individualman of significant public stature in Alberta and especially in the Ukrainian Canadian community . He was also a well educated and skillful leader.

I write as the beneficiary of his leadership. It was Dr Hohol who, while being a member of the Alberta Cabinet, facilitated the decision to fund the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies . It was this achievement that provided me with my first position at the University of Alberta. He remained interested in this work throughout his life.

I also worked with him as a volunteer when he took on the presidency of the Ukrainian Foundation for College Education that helped to finance projects at MacEwan University. His leadership was critical and respected by all who knew him.

I did have an opportunity to meet with him at Rosedale in his later years and enjoyed listening to him share how he worked so effectively with people in government and in the community.

He lived a full and productive life that benefitted his family and all people in society.i I will miss him.

May he rest in peace. Vichnaya pamiat.

It is with much sadness that I read the news of Dr.Hohol's passing. When he was still "Mr. Hohol," he was my English teacher at the Two Hills High School. I got "turned on" to the study of English literature by his excellent approach to teaching the subject, and became an English language teacher. I often based my approach to teaching upon the example he set, and spent my professional life attempting to follow his teaching techniques.

My condolences to the family. May the memory of this great man lend support to you at this time of great loss.

Dear Milt:
I was saddened to hear the news of your Dad's passing. I only had the privilege of meeting him on one occasion, during his time with the Alberta government, but I remember him as a very warm individual with a truly genuine persona.
Your Dad leaves a wonderful legacy, as an educator, a public servant and especially as a father and grandfather.
Sincere sympathy,

I was saddened to hear of Dr. Hohol's passing, but am grateful that I had a chance to meet and interview him a couple of years ago about the role he played in the establishment of the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies. His contribution to Ukrainian Studies in Canada and Ukrainian -language education in Alberta was immense, and continues to be appreciated by all those who have benefited from it. Vichna iomu pam'iat' - after a long life well lived, his rest is well deserved...

My condolences. I have vivid memories of your Father and indeed your Mother.

My memory of your Father in particular was that not only did he stand tall (in stature) but also as a kind understanding caring adult.

You may recall I was your neighbour across the lane in Parkview.

Milt, Barb and Family,

Our sincere condolences for the loss of your father and grand-father. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Uncle Bert, growing up, I remember you being so kind and thoughtful. Words cannot describe this difficult moment, but if this is the last time, I get to say goodbye, then I know I will do so with the knowledge that I consider myself blessed to have lived this life as your niece.
You touched so many lives (The Derdak Family) by your selfless and countless acts of kindness, always giving and never expecting any flavors in return. Your dedication to a cause was what set you apart. For every institution you
worked for, you laid the path for others to succeed. The benefits of your hard work is a living testimony for the so many young men and women you took under your wings (like myself) at a personal and professional level.
Thank you for all the fond memories we, the Derdak family have of you.
We thank the Lord for your life and bade farewell until we meet again.

Love,
Your Niece Sharon, Tom, her husband,
Sister-in-Law, Alice and All the Derdak Family
