Hornick, Albert M. Jr. HALFMOON Albert M. Hornick Jr., 60, of Carol Jeanne Lane, died Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Albany Medical Center, after being stricken last week. Born in Troy, July 5, 1951, son of the late Albert and Eileen Horton Hornick Sr. A forklift operator for most of his working career, Al had worked the last 11 years with Ultre Pet Co of Albany. Previously he had worked at Gardenway of Troy for years. A sportsman who loved hunting, fishing and the great outdoors, Al was a member of the NRA and the North American Hunting Club. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Christina McLean Hornick; a son, Albert "Mick" (Lisa Dugan) Hornick III of Mechanicville and daughter, Mary Ilene (George) Girtler of Clifton Park; grandchildren, Aiyanna, Baileigh, Natalie and Izabella Hornick and George Anthony Girtler V; four brothers, Arnold Heffner of Clifton park, Bill and Kevin Hornick of Troy, John Hornick of Green Island; five sisters, Sharon Schroeder and Darlene Watson, both of Cohoes; Carolyn Hornick and Marilyn McGrath, both of Troy, and Debra Gotham of Brunswick; along with many nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S. Main St., Mechanicville.
